About us

Ostrand Assurance is a insurer, based at Norrbruck in The Ostrand. The company was founded on 10 May 1842 by Emil Burholt and has traded for 184 years.

Established in the early years of the country, Ostrand Assurance continue to supply insurance against fire, flood and the hazards of the marsh from Norrbruck. The house has passed through 4 hands and changed its name once; its manner of doing business has not changed at all.

Our founder. Emil Burholt, clerk, was born at Weinau on 23 August 1799 and died on 22 February 1868.

Our services

The house supplies insurance against fire, flood and the hazards of the marsh. Samples may be seen at Norrbruck; terms cash, or approved bills.

Our rates follow the Bank rate of the Bank of Schwartzistan, which stands at 3.86 per cent. Terms are set out at every counter.

Our history

The company's books have been kept at Reed Row since the registered office was fixed there, and the timeline below is compiled from them and from the press.

1. 1842 The company is founded at Norrbruck.
2. 1862 Ostrand Assurance lists on the Vellmar Exchange as JHL. In the press.
3. 1926 Hoffick & Porfriff is acquired by Ostrand Assurance. In the press.
4. 1990 Hallin Iron & Steel is acquired by Ostrand Assurance. In the press.

Investors

Ostrand Assurance is quoted on the Vellmar Exchange as JHL since 1862. Last year-end close: 5,871.49 marka (31 December 2025).

The Exchange publishes year-end closes only. Shareholders may inspect the books at the registered office on application in writing.
